Samsung Fascinate Specs And Reviews
The Samsung Fascinate is the newest Android superphone released on the Verizon network.
Samsung’s Fascinate is a top-of-the-line 3G smartphone capable of blazing-fast speeds to bring you internet browsing, instant messaging, social networking, and multimedia anywhere you go.
The Samsung Fascinate has a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 5MP camera, capable of 720p video recording, 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0, Swype , and Android 2.1, among other features.
CNET’s review on the Fascinate’s touchscreen:
On the front of the device, you’ll find the same 4-inch Super AMOLED touch screen that graces the rest of the Galaxy S series, and like the others, the Fascinate’s display is gorgeous. The screen’s sharpness and pinch-to-zoom support make it easy to read text, and it also displays deep and rich colors, such that the multimedia experience is particularly wonderful. Also great is the fact that you can see the screen even in bright sunlight.
Engadget on the Samsung Fascinate’s build:
In our hands, 4-inches feels like the perfect size for this type of phone; the device feels considerably smaller than something like the Evo, but is more comfortable to type on than the Incredible or iPhone.
And Slashgear on the call quality provided by the Samsung Fascinate on Verizon’s network:
Verizon has a strong reputation for superlative call and data performance, and the Samsung Fascinate is certainly a best-of-breed when it comes to taking advantage of that. Voice calls were crisp and clear, while the speakerphone manages to be both loud and precise.
The Samsung Fascinate delivers for those looking for strong battery life. Amazon’s Samsung Fascinate page says that the device is capable of 7 hours talk time and 13 days standby time. Slashgear’s tests showed a that the Fascinate was capable of “around 14 hours and 25 minutes of mixed usage: that includes web browsing, Exchange push-email turned on, periodic checking of three Gmail accounts and some multimedia.”

Sandy Castaneda has written about her experience with the HTC Droid Eris.
Castaneda decided to go with the Eris to save $100 (though if she had seen BuyDroidPhones.com she would know she was really only saving $50…). Seems she’s developed buyer’s remorse.
Castaneda wishes she had spent on the Motorola Droid for its keyboard, processing power, Android 2.0, and because after buying apps to make the Eris do what the Droid can do out-of-the-box, the Eris isn’t such a hot deal.

NYTimes: “Call It An ‘App Phone’ (A What?)”
Posted by admin in Droid Reviews on November 5, 2009
Now I’m not so sure that we need a new classification for new Android phones, like the Motorola Droid, but author David Pogue‘s observation of how close the cell phone is almost merging with the laptop is spot-on.
Anyway, this is another review of the Motorola Android. Pogue extensively compares the Motorola Droid to the iPhone, from which the Droid hopes to pull customers away from.
Pogue’s conclusion: the Motorola Droid is a worthy challenger to the iPhone, though not without some quirks of its own.
