Install Animated Wallpapers As Backgrounds For Your Droid

You can now install and use animated wallpapers as your Droid‘s background.

Watch the clip below to view the available wallpapers:

Of course, you must jailbreak your Droid (see instructions to jailbreak your Droid here) in order to do so.

Once you’ve successfully rooted your Droid, you’re going to have to install Android 2.1.

And when Android 2.1 is up and running, follow these instructions to install the great-looking animated wallpapers!

Be forewarned: following the instructions above are the surest way to NOT BRICK your phone. The user must accept that the Droid’s warranty is invalidated when attempting to jailbreak the Droid, and that only the Droid user is responsibile for all unintended or unwanted consequences of rooting/jailbreak/modding their Droid.

Need A Christmas Gift For Your Droid User?

Droid Car MountThere are a bevy of car mounts available for the Motorola Droid over at Amazon.

If you’re looking for a last-minute gift for the Droid user (or want a car mount for yourself), make sure to check out Amazon’s selection.

With the car mount, a Droid user can use Google Navigation hands-free, just as one might with a typical GPS unit.

Your options range from ~$7.95 to as much as $39.95.

If I were buying a car mount for a Droid user, I’d keep my eye on Motorola’s OEM car mount. The mount itself is $29.99, and you get the assurance of Motorola‘s self-interest in offering a superior, reliable car mount.

There’s one catch: the Motorola car mount is currently out of stock. Check back to Amazon or order and wait for the mount to ship when it becomes available.

Even if your Droid user gets their car mount after the holidays, they will still be happy to have it, right?

For more ideas, check out PCWorld‘s Daily Gift Idea. This guide might be quite helpful for those looking to fill the empty space under their Christmas tree.
